My name is Tarrin Arnold Richmond, and my journey into tourism and storytelling has been anything but ordinary. I was born in Pietermaritzburg but grew up in Kokstad, a small town about two hours from Durban. In 2018, I moved to Cape Town to pursue a degree in Sports Management, but little did I know, the city would introduce me to a passion I never expected—photography.

Coming from a mixed-race household, I’ve often found people questioning my identity, and over time, I started asking those questions myself. My journey into photography and tourism became a way for me to explore and make sense of identity, culture, and history—not just for myself but for others who seek deeper connections to the places they visit.

In 2020, I bought my first camera and started experimenting with photography, capturing the world around me. By 2021, I found myself drawn to photographing travelers, fascinated by the way moments and stories could be preserved through a single frame. This passion led me into the tourism industry in 2022, the same year I completed my studies.

In 2025, I founded Travel Africa Right, a company dedicated to sharing the untold stories of South Africa and Africa through immersive tours. Blending my love for history, culture, and visual storytelling, my goal is to offer experiences that go beyond typical sightseeing, connecting travelers with the heart and soul of the places they visit.

Through Travel Africa Right, I hope to preserve our heritage for future generations, ensuring that history, identity, and culture are not just remembered but deeply felt.
